Best Time to Camp at Gerber Reservoir Campground

Plan your visit between May and September to enjoy the full campground experience, complete with drinking water, trash service, and helpful hosts who know the area inside and out. The high desert climate makes these months ideal for reservoir recreation, though you can still explore during the quieter off-season from October through April when the campground remains accessible but operates without amenities or fee collection. Keep in mind that reservoir levels can vary throughout the year, occasionally affecting boat launches and fishing access during low-water periods.

Twenty-five developed sites with tent pads; a separate horse camp (with corrals) operates seasonally (May–October); primitive campsites are available nearby. The site is described as primitive in terms of hookups (no electric/water/sewer hookups), but accommodates RVs (dump station provided).
