Go if

Road-trippers between Pendleton and La Grande who want a real bed: the log cabins are well-kept, spaced a bit better than the tent sites, and four are pet-friendly. The old-growth timber and Oregon Trail trails make a night here feel like more than a highway pit stop.

Skip if

Light sleepers will struggle, reviewers call the I-84 noise 'continuous and extreme,' and no amount of elevation or pine canopy blocks it. Tent campers expecting seclusion will also find the sites packed closer to an RV park than a forest campground.
