With striking landscapes and brilliant blue waters, this year-round playground spreads across 1.5 million acres of mountains, canyons, valleys and two vast lakes. See the Hoover Dam from the waters of Lake Mead or Lake Mohave, or find solitude in one of the park's nine wilderness areas.
By car you can drive to one of the park's many entrances. The six main entrances to Lake Mead are as follows: Northshore, Lake Mead Boulevard, Lake Mead Parkway, and Boulder, Temple Bar and Meadview. For the southern sections of the park, near Lake Mohave, there are entrance stations at Willow Beach, Katherine Landing and Cottonwood Cove.

Fall offers the most comfortable combination of warm daytime weather and cool nights, with daytime highs typically in the 70s–80s°F (October) and cooling into the 60s°F by November — ideal for extended time on the water. Boating, fishing, and hiking are at their peak because the heat-driven crowds and extreme summer temperatures have subsided, but facilities and the marina are still operating. Willow Beach Campground offers a variety of amenities catering to both tent campers and RV users. The campground features clean restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities. Shower access requires a key card, which also grants entry to the laundry room. There are flush toilets available, and many reviews highlight the cleanliness and maintenance of these facilities. Each campsite includes a fire ring and picnic table, though tent sites are noted to have limited shade. Wi-Fi is available for one device per site, with additional codes available for purchase. There is no cell phone reception. The campground has a camp store for basic needs, although its operating hours are limited. Trash and recycling services are available, but there are complaints about the distance to trash bins from some sites.
