You want affordable foothills camping with creek fishing, wildflower hikes, and a helpful camp host during peak season.
You need flush toilets or prefer campgrounds without vault toilet odor issues during busy periods.

Best season: spring. Spring is prime for Curtis Creek's spectacular rhododendron and wildflower displays and comfortable hiking weather — expect daytime highs around 55–70°F and nights 35–50°F from April through May. Trails, waterfalls and creeks are flowing well for photography, fishing and shorter day hikes, while bugs are only starting to wake and crowds are moderate (weekends fill faster). Early spring shoulder-season weekends give the best mix of flower displays, wildlife activity and available sites before the Peak months: May, October, June, September Avoid: January, February, March
Spring (Apr–May) is highlighted as best: rhododendrons bloom, creeks full, ideal hiking/fishing.
