Glacier National Park is located in the northwest corner of Montana along the spine of the Rocky Mountains. By car you can access Glacier via Highway 2, which runs along the southern boundary of the park. You can reach the east side of the park via Highway 89. The nearest airports are in Kalispell and Great Falls, Montana.

Summer offers the most reliable weather and trail access at Cut Bank, with long, warm days ideal for day hikes and multi-day backcountry trips; expect daytime highs roughly 60–75°F and cool nights in the mid-30s to mid-40s. Most snow is gone from trailheads by June, opening higher routes and alpine scenery, while the dense forest provides pleasant shade for campsites. Crowds are heavier in Glacier NP during July–August, but Cut Bank’s tree-sheltered, secluded sites usually feel quieter than bus- Peak months: July, August, September, June

Generator use is prohibited AT ALL TIMES in the following campground areas: Fish Creek , C Loop Many Glacier , sites 48–59, 71, and 88–102 Rising Sun , sites 49–84 Sprague Creek , all sites St. Mary , A Loop Two Medicine , sites 1–36 Cutbank Campground , all sites
