Go if

Big-rig RV owners who've been burned by cramped, unlevel sites will appreciate what reviewers call 'GIGANTIC' concrete pads where one camper only needed to drop the stabilizers after backing in. Spring is the sweet spot for mild temps and bass fishing on the lake.

Skip if

Minimal lighting is a real thing here, not just a quibble. Multiple reviewers flagged it, and some amenities are still under construction, so campers expecting a fully finished resort will find a campground that's still growing into itself.

About Grenada Lake

Context for the broader area surrounding Old Fort Campground, sourced from the federal Recreation.gov rec-area record.

Grenada Lake, MS, on the Yalobusha and Skuna Rivers, is home to the "Thunder on Water" festival held annually in June. A visitor center, fitness trail and tennis courts are just some of the recreation opportunities located on the lake in addition to camping, boating and picnicking facilities. Civil War redoubts are located on Grenada Lake project lands and Civil War reenactments take place here.
