Tent campers wanting shade and privacy will find both in short supply here. Sites are open and the urban setting brings early garbage trucks and, on some weekend nights, racetrack noise from nearby. Pets can't come either.

Summer brings the most reliable conditions: daytime highs in the mid-70s to mid-80s°F, mostly dry weather, and full access to boat launches and riverside sites. Walleye, northern pike, and catfish are active, and the greenway trails stay busy with bikers and hikers. The Red River's spring flooding risk shapes the seasonal schedule. Snowmelt can bring dramatic water level changes that close portions of the campground. Plan for summer or early fall. Check current river levels before booking spring dates.
Summer most reliable: mid-70s/80s, full access to launches and riverside sites.
