Best season: fall. Early fall (primarily September) offers the best balance of comfortable weather, lower crowds, and excellent fishing and wildlife viewing as the lake cools and migratory birds pass through. Daytime highs are typically in the 65–80°F range with crisp mornings in the 45–55°F range, making hiking, biking, and shoreline exploration very pleasant. Because Timber Creek Park closes after September 30, plan for September visits to get peak fall conditions with fewer weekend boat crowds than midsummer. Peak months: September, May, June, July Avoid: October, November, December, January
Early September cited as best time: crisp mornings, migratory birds; park closes Sep 30.
