Summer offers the best combination of access, comfortable weather, and active creek-side recreation — expect daytime highs around 65–80°F and cool nights in the 40s–50s at 5,115 ft. The tall-timber canopy provides generous shade for true back-to-basics camping, and Mallard Creek is at its most pleasant for wading, wildlife viewing, and quiet creekside relaxation.
