Go if

Winter birders, boaters with electric motors, and anyone who wants full hookups (water, electric, dump station, hot showers) without the summer bugs and heat. The 318-acre lake at sunrise is the payoff, and trails link into the Florida National Scenic Trail.

Skip if

No cell service at all kills it for anyone who needs to stay reachable. The fishing dock is damaged and closed right now, turtles and gators frustrate catch rates anyway, and the nearest grocery run is 20 miles to Milton.
