Summer offers the most reliable window for access, long daylight, and peak wildlife activity — expect cool, generally wet coastal-Alaska summers with daytime highs around 45–60°F (7–15°C) and long daylight hours in June–July. Salmon runs, productive tidal-channel fishing, and the highest concentrations of shorebirds and waterfowl make boating and wildlife viewing exceptional. Tiedeman Slough Cabin is a rustic, remote facility catering to guests seeking a unique, self-sufficient lodging experience. The 12x14 cabin features wooden bunkbeds (without mattresses), a table, an oil stove, a rainwater catchment barrel, and an outdoor pit toilet. The cabin lacks running water and electricity, requiring visitors to bring their own water, food, sleeping necessities, and other supplies. "The cabin does not have running water or electricity. Visitors must bring their own water, food, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cook stoves, matches, cooking gear/utensils, light source, #1 stove oil, toilet paper, first aid kit and garbage bags."
