- Best for:
- Car camping, glamping, family or group basecamps and festival camping where weight and pack size are not concerns
- Skip it if you want:
- Backpacking, ultralight hiking, solo hiking or budget-minded campers who need a lightweight or cheap tent
Main tradeoff: Extremely heavy and bulky (around 66 lb total), not practical to carry except by vehicle
Why we pack it
Sally and Justin Steele, from our own trips
After our 140, the kids wanted to stop sleeping in the campervan and start sleeping in their own tent, so we bought a 100 as the kids' tent. A two-tent setup has been our default ever since. Same build as the 140 in a footprint that fits a standard site.
