About This Gear
The NEMO Victory Sunshade is an ideal companion for sunny days at the beach. It provides excellent UV protection and generous coverage with its large, adjustable canopy. Lightweight and relatively easy to set up, it enhances comfort quickly and provides stable, consistent shelter. However, it is similar to setting up a small tent with four stakes, two crossed poles, and several clamps, so it is not as simple as some other beach shelters.

This is how we hold a beach. At Lester Beach on D.L. Bliss in Lake Tahoe we get down early, before the rush, and put the Sunshade up to hold the spot until the rest of the group comes down. It is a genuinely good beach shelter: airy, open at both ends so you can walk straight through, good shade, and you can see out on every side.
It is not a pop-up. Putting it up takes some effort, though nothing unmanageable, and it is sturdy once it is standing. Bring big sand stakes. On sand the standard stakes will not hold it, and a shelter that blows away is worse than no shelter. We have used it as a rain shelter at camp too, though these days we usually reach for a tarp instead.
