A big blanket you roll out and then leave out. One side is soft, which is the side the little kids end up on, and the other is tougher and takes dirt without complaining, which is the side facing the ground.

We put it down for the younger kids to play on, and after dark it becomes the spot where a row of them lie down to watch a movie.
