Indian Creek Recreation Area sits between Rimrock Lake and Clear Lake, offering dispersed camping on a first-come, first-served basis. Both RV and tent campers stake out their own sites among the pines. Payment works through Recreation.gov's Scan and Pay system.

Weather and SeasonsBest season: summer. Summer offers the most reliable weather for lakeside dispersed camping — expect warm, generally dry days with daytime highs commonly in the mid-60s to mid-80s °F (about 18–30 °C) at mid-elevation sites, and cool nights. Both Rimrock Lake and Clear Lake are at their most inviting for swimming, paddling, and fishing, and trails and dispersed sites are fully accessible. Be aware weekends are busiest and late summer can bring regional wildfire restrictions and higher visitor numbers.
Peak months: July, August, June, September
Avoid: December, January, February
Natural Features and SceneryThe campground occupies a corridor between two lakes. Rimrock Lake lies on one side, Clear Lake on the other. Pines provide natural spacing between the dispersed sites. Shoreline access makes it easy to fish, paddle, or swim. The landscape has that mid-elevation Northwest mix of forest and water, nothing dramatic but pleasant enough if you want lakeside camping without developed amenities.
