About Lake Dorr Campground

Nestled along the tranquil northwest shore of Lake Dorr, this hidden gem in Ocala National Forest welcomes campers beneath a canopy of ancient oaks. Whether you're pitching a tent, parking your RV, or settling into a cozy rental cabin, you'll find yourself perfectly positioned for days spent boating across glassy waters, casting for bass, or carving wakes while waterskiing.
Lake Dorr Recreation Area provides campsites for tents, campers and RVs along the shaded northwest shore beneath an oak hammock, and also offers a rentable cabin for families or groups.
Natural Features and SceneryImagine waking to dappled sunlight filtering through a cathedral of live oaks, their gnarled branches draped with Spanish moss swaying in the morning breeze. The campground rests in a shaded oak hammock that provides natural air conditioning even on warm Florida days, while just steps away, Lake Dorr stretches out before you—a shimmering expanse of blue framed by dense forest that seems to roll endlessly toward the horizon. The deep shade of the hammock creates a cool, peaceful retreat where the only sounds are birdsong, rustling leaves, and the gentle lap of lake water against the shore.
