Natural Features and SceneryThe 1,360-acre expanse of Dierks Lake spreads before you, its waters weaving through stands of flooded timber along the Saline River—a bass and crappie angler's paradise where submerged trees create the perfect habitat. Beyond the shoreline, paddlers glide through quiet coves ideal for canoes and kayaks, while swimmers find refreshing spots along sandy banks. The upper reaches of the project encompass nearly 600 acres of public hunting lands, a diverse habitat where white-tail deer browse at forest edges, bobwhite quail burst from grasslands, and grey and fox squirrels chatter in the canopy. Mourning doves wing overhead at dusk, cottontail rabbits dart through the underbrush, and seasonal waterfowl rest on quiet backwaters during their migrations.
