Best season: spring. Spring offers the most comfortable weather and the fullest range of activities — expect daytime highs around 70–85°F and cool nights in the 50s, ideal for hiking, boating, and fishing. Migratory waterfowl and blooming shorelines make birding and wildlife viewing especially rewarding, and lake levels are usually good for boat launches and paddling. Crowd levels rise on spring weekends and holidays but weekdays remain pleasantly uncrowded, letting you enjoy the waterfront campsites and shoreline. Peak months: April, March, May, October Avoid: January, February
Spring cited as the best time: 70–85°F days, cool nights, good lake levels and migratory waterfowl.
