Best season: spring. Spring offers the best balance of mild weather and active outdoor opportunities — daytime highs commonly run from the mid-60s to mid-80s°F with cool nights in the 50s. Wildflowers and leaf-out along the bluff-top woodlands make the lake views especially dramatic, and bird migration boosts wildlife viewing. Trails, boat ramps, and fishing are all at their most pleasant while crowds are moderate (weekends can be busy), so plan weekday visits for maximum solitude. Peak months: April, May, October, March Avoid: July, August
Spring described as most comfortable with wildflowers, new leaves and dramatic bluff-top views.
