Natural Features and SceneryThe campground perches on the edge of Hells Canyon, which drops deeper than the Grand Canyon. Across the chasm, Idaho's Seven Devils Mountains rise on the far rim, peaks often snow-dusted even in summer. Limited shade means exposed camping, but also unobstructed views of layered basalt walls falling away below. This is raw rim country where fire has cleared the canopy and opened the sightlines.
