    Nestled in the shade of coastal pines just a quarter-mile from pristine Gulf waters, Volunteer Campground welcomes you with 60 full-hookup sites tucked behind historic dunes. With hot showers, a playground for the kids, and even hammock-camping spots among the trees, this peaceful pine flatwoods retreat offers the perfect base camp for your barrier island adventure.
    Includes developed campsites with utilities, primitive carry-in campsites at Gap Point, and a youth/group tent camping area.

    A barrier-island park offering beach access, birding, trails, paddling and boating, fishing, and cycling along paved and stabilized roads and nature trails.
    HikingTrails include a 2.5-mile Gap Point Trail beginning in the campground to the bay, and the 1-mile East Slough Overlook Trail (boardwalks and benches). Trails were evaluated using the Universal Trail Assessment Program.
    FishingSurf and bay fishing are popular; catches can include flounder, redfish, sea trout, pompano, whiting and sometimes Spanish mackerel. Angling must follow state regulations and may require a license.
    SwimmingSwimming and sunbathing on the park's white-sand Gulf beaches are popular. Lifeguards are not provided; the park uses a beach flag warning system to indicate conditions.
