Tent campers should know every pad is gravel, so stakes won't hold and sleeping directly on the ground is rough, bring a freestanding tent and a thick pad, or reconsider. Raccoons also actively raid food, and there's no cell service.
Compare with similar sites, watch availability, and build a packing list — Camp Sage handles all of it.
Fall brings mid-60s to low-80s°F days and cooler nights, with lower humidity and fewer bugs than summer. Water levels stay moderate and insect pressure drops after Labor Day, making paddling and hiking more comfortable. Summer is popular for tubing and canoeing but brings afternoon thunderstorms and higher camp traffic. Spring visits work well. Winters are mild enough for snowbirds. The rainy season from June through September keeps trails lush but can leave puddles in the bathhouse.
Peak season with warm weather, perfect for water activities. Book early.
