Sawtooth Canyon Campground, also known as 'New Jack City,' is located approximately 3 miles west of California Highway 247 and 20 miles south of Barstow, California. It offers 13 campsites on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations required and no fees. Four campsites are near Boy Scout Wall north of the concrete pad, along with a vault toilet and kiosk; three are walk-in sites 50 feet from parking on the other side of the canyon; and there is a campground host-site northeast of White Face Wall. Amenities include shade ramadas, 12 fire pits with grills, 12 barbeque grills, and 12 picnic tables. The campground is primitive, primarily for tents, self-contained RVs, and travel trailers. Permitted activities include camping, wildlife viewing, hunting, rock climbing, and picnicking. Campfire permits are required and may be restricted in fire season, obtainable at www.preventwildfireca.org. OHV riding is prohibited; vehicles must be trailered in and out.
