Best season: fall. Fall offers the most comfortable combination of cooler temperatures (daytime highs generally in the mid-60s to mid-70s°F, nights in the 40s–50s°F), lower humidity, and striking color in the hardwood canopy along the Tombigbee River. This is prime time for hiking, wildlife viewing (deer, turkeys, migrating songbirds), paddling calm water, and excellent bass and catfish fishing as fish feed actively before winter. Crowd levels are moderate — popular weekends fill up but weekdays are peaceful — and Peak months: October, November, April, May
Fall highlighted as best: lower humidity, great colors, active fishing and popular weekends.
