Carbon block filtration + UV-C purification for pure, trash-free camp water
Setup Time
10-15 minutes
Power Source
12V DC battery/power station
Orientation
Clear the pad, lay out your parts, and spot the color coding so setup flows smoothly.
Set up on a stable picnic table or flat surface near your water source (a filled Scepter-style water jug) and your power station. Keep the drinking water container and a spare catch container nearby for the initial purge.
Lay everything out before you start so nothing is missing mid-setup.
assembly
Power up the filter and connect the inlet and outlet hoses in order, running raw water through the inline filter and into the Guzzle H2O unit.
Open the Guzzle H2O carrying case and locate the 12V DC power cord with the cigarette lighter style plug. This cord powers both the internal pump and the UV-C purification unit.
Insert one end of the power cord into the power inlet port on the side of the Guzzle H2O case. This supplies power to the pump and UV-C unit inside.
Turn on your portable power station and plug the cigarette lighter end of the cord into one of its outlets or 12V port. Confirm the power station display shows it's powered on before continuing.
Confirm Power
Check that the power station is switched on and outputting power before moving to the next step.
Attach the red inlet hose to the inlet fitting on the Guzzle H2O case. This hose will carry raw water into the unit for filtration.
Attach the other end of the red inlet hose to the Glacier Fresh inline water filter. This pre-filter helps remove additional taste and odor before water reaches the Guzzle H2O.
Attach the free end of the Glacier Fresh inline filter to the outlet valve on your Scepter-style water jug, which holds your raw water supply.
Turn the valve knob on the jug outlet so it lines up in the same direction as the hose fitting (in line with flow), rather than at a 90-degree angle. This indicates the valve is fully open and water can flow.
Valve Orientation
When the valve handle is aligned with the direction of the hose, it's open. At 90 degrees, it's closed.
Attach the blue outlet hose to the outlet fitting on the Guzzle H2O case. This hose will deliver clean, filtered water to your drinking container.
filtering
Power on the unit, purge the initial water, then fill your drinking container.
Press the power button on the Guzzle H2O unit to activate the internal pump and start water flow. This begins pulling water through the inline filter and into the carbon block/UV-C filtration system.
Before collecting drinking water, let the first bit of water run out of the blue outlet hose into a separate catch container. This clears out any stagnant water sitting in the lines and pre-filter from previous use.
Once the lines are clear, move the outlet hose into your drinking water cooler or jug and let it fill with freshly filtered water.
Open the small air bleed valve on top of the Scepter water jug. As water is pumped out, this valve allows air to enter behind it, preventing a vacuum from forming inside the jug.
Do This Early
Open this air bleed valve at the same time you open the jug's main outlet valve. If skipped, the jug will create a vacuum, causing the sides to collapse inward and making the pump work much harder.
breakdown
Once you've collected enough water, turn off the power button on the Guzzle H2O, disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses, and pack the unit back into its case for storage.
Walk the perimeter once and confirm these items before moving in.
You've successfully set up and run the Guzzle H2O filtration system. Enjoy your clean, great-tasting camp water!
The Guzzle H2O combines carbon block filtration with UV-C purification to remove contaminants and neutralize pathogens, delivering safe drinking water without single-use bottles.
An internal 12V pump draws water through the system, powered conveniently by a portable power station via a cigarette lighter style plug.
The filter and its components are housed in a durable, weatherproof case with an auto pressure equalizer, making it easy to transport and protect in the field.
The system supports an additional inline filter (like the Glacier Fresh) upstream of the main unit to further improve taste before water enters the Guzzle H2O.
Filtration Type
Carbon Block Filtration + UV-C Purification
Power Requirement
12V DC (cigarette lighter plug into power station)
Freeze Warning
Do not freeze — remove water from filter and UV unit when winterizing
The pump won't turn on when I press the power button.
Check that the power cord is fully seated in the Guzzle H2O's power inlet and that your power station is turned on and actively outputting power. Confirm the battery has sufficient charge.
The water jug is collapsing or the pump seems to be straining.
This usually means the air bleed valve on top of the water jug is closed. Open it at the same time as the main outlet valve so air can enter the jug as water is pumped out, preventing a vacuum.
The first water out tastes off or looks discolored.
This is normal: water sitting in the hoses and pre-filter from prior use or storage needs to be purged. Always run the initial output into a separate catch container before directing water into your drinking supply.
Water flow seems slow or weak.
Check that both the main jug valve and the air bleed valve are fully open, and inspect the inline pre-filter and hoses for kinks or clogs. A partially closed valve can significantly restrict flow.
