No potable water on-site, so pack every drop you'll need. The walk-in access with roadside parking isn't brutal, but it rules out anyone who can't carry gear uphill. A few past visitors have reported interactions that felt unwelcoming to people outside the local social mainstream

This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site. Once on-site, you may be able to pay for your campsite(s) by scanning a QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app, and the Scan and Pay feature.

Goose Lake is a popular fishing, boating and swimming lake. It is especially good for children. The lake is stocked with fish several times a season. The day use area has parking, picnic tables, a vault toilet and a boat ramp. Campsites are located in level spots on the hillside with attractive views of the lake. Parking for the sites is on the road side. The sites are walk in and allow tent camping only.

Summer offers the warmest, most reliable weather for swimming, boating and launching from the campground’s boat ramp — expect daytime highs typically in the 70s–80s°F (21–30°C) with mild evenings, making the lake comfortable for long days on the water. Fishing and boating are at their peak as fish are active and the water is open, and the day-use area and vault toilets are fully usable.
