Best season: summer. Summer offers the best combination of access, long daylight, and comfortable weather for exploring the Brooks Range and Galbraith Lake — daytime temperatures typically range from the 40s to 60s°F with occasional warm spikes into the upper 70s–80°F in June. Trails, tundra wildflowers, fishing and day-hikes into the Atigun Valley are at their peak, and the campground (open May–September) is accessible without specialized winter gear. Expect very low visitor density compared with lower-latitude US公 Peak months: July, June, August, September Avoid: October, November, December, January
Described as best season: long daylight, wildflowers, comfortable weather May–Sept.
Galbraith Lake Campground is an undeveloped campground with around 12 campsites, bearproof garbage cans, and one vault toilet. Flowing water is available from a nearby creek but must be filtered or treated before consumption. "The campground sits about a mile away from the lake itself," providing spectacular views of the Brooks Range, Gates of the Arctic National Park to the west, and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to the east. The campground operates approximately from May to September.
