Go if

Boaters and anglers who want a lakeside base with pontoon rentals and a marina nearby. Site 66 has solid lake views, though bring an extra extension cord and water hose since hookups run long. Spring is the sweet spot before summer crowds and humidity arrive.

Skip if

Modern facilities matter to you. The lodge draws repeated comparisons to a dated motel, bathhouses sit at the top of the hill away from most sites, and some cottages have had mouse and rust issues. Accessible campers should also note wet bathroom floors and no handrails on steep
