Escape to a hidden coastal sanctuary right in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, where 180 acres of pristine wilderness stretch between the sparkling Atlantic Ocean and the calm waters of the Intracoastal Waterway. This urban oasis offers group and youth camping adventures complete with cozy cabins, a primitive group campsite, and ranger-led programs that bring the park's natural wonders to life. Whether you're exploring beach trails, gathering for a picnic under swaying palms, or spending the night under the stars, this is where city convenience meets wild Florida beauty.
Overnight options include organized group/youth camping: a primitive group campsite for up to 50 in tents and the Elks Youth Camp with six cabins (accommodates 68) with restrooms and air conditioning. Reservations are for organized groups only.

Activities you can enjoy

A wide range of day-use and overnight activities are offered, including hiking, bicycling, paddling/boating, fishing, swimming/beach access, wildlife viewing and interpretive ranger programs.
HikingCoastal Hammock Trail is a ~20-minute interpretive walk through a maritime tropical hardwood hammock; the Mid Trail highlights many plants introduced by Hugh Taylor Birch.
FishingFishing is allowed from any public access area and from the Intracoastal Waterway seawall only; fishing is prohibited in interior waters (mangroves, coastal dune lake). A fishing license may be required.
SwimmingBeach access is available (via the crosswalk on A1A) for swimming and beach activities.
