No potable water on site means hauling everything in yourself, and since the permit holder is responsible for maintenance, anyone expecting staffed facilities or a cleaned-up campground will be disappointed.
Compare with similar sites, watch availability, and build a packing list — Camp Sage handles all of it.
Fall is the sweet spot here. Daytime temperatures run 65-80°F, nights cool to 45-60°F, and humidity finally drops after the brutal summer. This is also peak hunt season. Game activity picks up in late October through December, port-a-lets get placed, and the reservation system goes active. Expect more people on weekends during this window. Summer brings the opposite: heat, humidity, and afternoon thunderstorms that can turn the flatwoods into a mosquito factory.
Fall is 'sweet spot': 65–80°F days, cooler nights and peak hunt season.
