Best season: summer. Summer offers the clearest access and the most reliable alpine weather at 10,500 ft—expect daytime highs roughly 55–70°F (13–21°C) and chilly nights around 30–40°F (-1–4°C). Wildflower displays peak in July–August, trails are generally snow-free for hiking and boating, and fishing is at its best after ice-out; expect moderate crowds on weekends but a remote, quiet feel midweek. Be prepared for sudden afternoon thunderstorms and cold nights by bringing warm layers, rain gear, and plenty of water. Peak months: July, August, September, June Avoid: November, December, January, February
