Best Time to Camp at Main Campground
This year-round destination truly shines from October through April, when daytime temperatures create perfect conditions for hiking, exploring, and lounging at your campsite under brilliant blue skies. Fall through early spring brings warm, comfortable days and cool evenings ideal for campfires, while summer turns up the heat considerably—those months are best left to heat-loving adventurers who don't mind triple-digit temperatures and are prepared with plenty of shade and water.
Arizona summers are very hot; desert camping is often uncomfortable during peak heat months.
Fall offers mild temps and prime conditions for hiking/biking in the desert mountains.
Spring is ideal (pleasant temps, popular season) for desert hiking and views.
Mild Arizona winters are favorable for camping and trail use; few closures noted.
