Summer brings the most reliable conditions. Daytime temperatures run 60s to low 70s°F, dropping to the 40s and 50s at night. June offers over 20 hours of daylight. Salmon runs peak during these months, and the boat launch stays accessible. Winter closes much of the site, though the area supports cross-country skiing and snowmobiling when snow covers the gravel bars.
Best season: long daylight, 60s–70s°F, and peak salmon runs after July 4.
