Best Time to Camp at Thorny Ridge Campground

The campground welcomes visitors from April through October, when water hookups flow and shower houses steam with hot water after long lake days. Summer means cannonballs off the dock and lazy afternoon floats, while September and October paint the oaks in burnt orange and gold, creating some of the most photogenic camping you'll find in Missouri. Brave the off-season and you'll trade hot showers for something priceless: the whole peninsula practically to yourself, wrapped in the crisp silence of a Missouri winter.
