Twin Lakes State Park Campground sits on roughly 35 sites between two lakes in south-central Virginia, offering a quiet, family-friendly escape with swimming beaches, boat rentals, and well-marked trails. Campers consistently note the clean facilities, friendly rangers, and heavy tree cover. Sites are generally small and uneven, so larger RVs will need leveling blocks and patience.

Holliday Lake State Park

The park is home to plenty of wildlife and offers camping, picnic shelters, lodging, boat launches and numerous types of trails. Canoeing is popular here.

Bear Creek Lake State Park

Bear Creek Lake State Park Campground sits on the shores of a 40-acre lake within Cumberland State Forest, about 60 miles west of Richmond. The campground has 6 sites split between electric/water hookups and tent-only spots, plus cabin rentals. Sites are small and close together, better suited for tents or small pop-up campers than large RVs. Reservations fill quickly on summer weekends when the sandy beach and boat launch see the most use.

The park offers camping, cabins, a meeting facility, an archery range, lakeside picnicking, playgrounds, a boat launch, a swimming beach and hiking trails.
