Best Time to Camp at Lower Hyalite Group

Summer transforms Lower Hyalite into a temperate mountain paradise, with warm days perfect for hiking and cool evenings ideal for stargazing around the campfire. Winter brings a dramatic change, blanketing the canyon in snow and dropping temperatures to frigid levels, creating a wonderland for the most adventurous cold-weather campers. Spring and fall offer their own rewards – wildflower blooms and golden aspen displays respectively – though visitors should prepare for variable conditions. The peak camping season runs from late June through early September, when the mountain weather is most reliable and the full splendor of Hyalite Canyon reveals itself.
