    About Hocking Hills Campground

Step back in time at this authentic 1930s Civilian Conservation Corps cabin, lovingly crafted from American Chestnut by the young men of Company 505—one of Ohio's first CCC camps. Built during the Great Depression to house administrative staff, this historic gem features original chestnut timber and a handsome stone chimney made from locally collected rock, standing as a testament to the dedication of 200 enrollees who transformed these public lands while supporting their families back home.
