Best Time to Camp at Limekiln Lake

Summer transforms Limekiln Lake into a sun-drenched paradise where warm days invite endless hours of swimming and exploration—though you'll want to embrace the digital detox that comes with limited cell service. As autumn arrives, the surrounding forests explode into a breathtaking canvas of crimson, gold, and amber, creating perfect conditions for hiking and photography in crisp, comfortable temperatures. While winter blankets the landscape in deep snow, transforming the area into a quiet wonderland, the campground becomes less accessible for traditional camping. Each season paints this Adirondack gem with its own unique palette, though summer and fall remain the crown jewels for camping enthusiasts.
