Open from March through November, this campground transforms with the seasons. Summer is all energy—kids cannonballing off swim docks, boats humming across the water, campfires crackling late into warm evenings. But here's an insider tip: visit during the shoulder seasons of spring or fall, when the crowds thin out and the temperatures hover in that perfect range for hiking and relaxing. Just note that marina services and rentals follow the summer crowd, so plan accordingly if those are part of your lake day dreams.
