About this campground

Tucked into the shadow of the impressive Pomme de Terre dam, Outlet Park invites adventurers to discover a Missouri gem where rushing waters meet forested hills. This beloved campground serves as your gateway to endless outdoor pursuits—cast a line into pristine waters teeming with fish, paddle through peaceful river corridors, traverse scenic hiking trails, or simply settle in with binoculars to spot the abundant wildlife that calls this region home.
Outlet Park offers 20 campsites, including 19 with water and electric hookups and one non-electric site. Options include individual and group camping, suitable for both tents and RVs. The group site is highly praised for its spaciousness and cleanliness, with reviews noting 'Family rented the group site for the weekend and it was amazing.'
Historical SignificanceThe Pomme de Terre River holds a unique distinction in Missouri's geography—it's the state's only river that flows northward, defying the typical southern journey of its neighboring waterways. This geological curiosity has shaped both the landscape and the local culture for generations.
Weather and SeasonsEach season paints Outlet Park in different hues. Spring awakens the landscape with gentle rains and warming temperatures that coax wildflowers from their winter slumber. Summer brings those perfect campfire nights under star-filled skies. But many seasoned campers will tell you fall is when Outlet Park truly shines—crisp air replaces summer's humidity, leaves burst into brilliant colors, and comfortable days make every outdoor activity more enjoyable.
Natural Features and SceneryThe ancient Ozark hills cradle Outlet Park in a tapestry of dense forests and rolling terrain. Towering oaks and hickories provide a verdant canopy overhead, while the Pomme de Terre River winds its way through the valley below. Just upstream, the expansive Pomme de Terre Lake stretches across the horizon, its waters reflecting the surrounding hills like a mirror. This convergence of river, lake, and forest creates a diverse ecosystem that transforms with each passing season.
Geological RegionDeep in the heart of west-central Missouri's Ozarks, Outlet Park sits among some of the oldest mountains in North America. These rugged, tree-crowned hills tell a story millions of years in the making, where ancient seas once covered the land and time has carved out valleys, hollows, and the distinctive karst topography that makes the Ozarks legendary among outdoor enthusiasts.
